We publish two prices that expire on a known date. Until today we did not say so

The $149 rate on the 4 mg oral tablet ends 31 August 2026. It was on 162 pages with no indication that it stops being true in under a month.

This publication's central argument is that a price without a date is not a claim, and that figures survive long after the publisher stopped standing behind them. We then published two figures with a stated end date from the manufacturer's own guide and marked neither.

The $149 rate covers the 1.5 mg and 4 mg oral semaglutide tablet. On 31 August 2026 the 4 mg price rises to $199. That is 28 days from today, and the figure sat on 162 pages reading like an open-ended price.

What changed

• Price records now carry a valid_until field and a stated reason, in the open export, so anything reading our data machine-side sees the end date too.
• Every page quoting the figure in a costed table now says when it stops applying, and how many days that is.
• A build check fails if a record has a known end date and does not carry it — and a second fails if the marker gets pasted onto more than a third of the site, because a caveat on every page is noise.

The other dated figures worth knowing: the $199 new-patient pen rate runs to 31 December 2026, and the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge is a demonstration scheduled to end 31 December 2027.
